Kindle Fire, Ipad 2, and Barnes and Noble Nook Comparison Chart
The below chart is probably the best tablet comparison chart to come out in the aftermath of this weeks Amazon Kindle Fire announcement. The more we look at things from a pure hardware perspective the Kindle Fire is not really the Ipad killer we thought it would be. This does not mean the $200 price point and its access the the Android App marketplace won’t make it a major player in the tablet market. In fact most believe the price point is what will send its sales soaring this holiday season.
When looking at the image above it is much easier to call the Kindle Fire a Nook killer more than an Ipad killer. The ipad 2 sports the obvious upgrades of 3g, GPS, and Bluetooth tech where neither the Nook or Fire bother. Amazon’s new tablet also beats the Nook out with its upgraded dual core processor and experts say its cloud based Amazon Silk browser is lightning fast on it as well. The processing power of the Fire compares well to the Ipad and the Amazon Silk Android Browser is said to best IOS in usability.
Where the Amazon Kindle Fire fails to compete however is on cellular level, not having 3g I think hurts them with the traveling techie, but as mentioned earlier the price point is going to widen its appeal more than enough to make up for it.
