Amazon announced its new 2011 Kindle line on September 28th just in time to lead into the holiday buying season. The Kindle Touch 3G is the latest improvement on Amazon’s popular line of e-readers. This Kindle follows their traditional book mimicing design, this is not a table PC design like their also recently announce Kindle Fire Tablet. Basically Amazon took their base Kindle design and put a supercharger in it, and I believe has secured that place on top of the e-reader mountain.

The most important advancement Amazon has made with the Kindle 3g is its no wifi 3g support. It features no annual contract to e-reader customers, so no monthly fees like the ipad. This allows you to download books anywhere you please without having to be in a hotspot, how convenient is that? owners of the current kindle line may want to upgrade just for that alone. It does still come with built in wi-fi support if you are in a hotspot which can provide faster downloads.

Amazon is promoting the Kindle Touch 3g as the most advanced e-reader ever, and when you read through is impressive feature set it is hard to argue. I like the fact that they have designed it to be a bit lighter and thinner so it can easily conform to your reading position. One thing I am hoping they get right and didn’t screw up is the new touch screen technology. They say it will make page turns smoother and easier however you are holding the kindle touch 3g, hopefully they are right but sometime when you play with something too much, you can break it.
